Anita is incredibly grateful for the multitude of opportunities that God has graciously placed before her throughout her career in education. These opportunities have allowed her to receive training in various capacities, including early learning, secondary education, sciences, mathematics and teaching in a Spanish bilingual program for Kindergarten through to Grade 6.
Her true passion in education lies in teaching mathematics in a way that sparks curiosity, ignites investigation, and allows students to actively construct their understanding of mathematics. She firmly believes that by creating rich learning experiences where students are doers of mathematics they can develop a genuine love for mathematics, including in a language program. In the past few years, Anita has teamed up with teachers in the Edmonton Catholic school Division, to implement best practices in a mathematics classroom to support language learners and is eager to share findings with the Spanish bilingual community.
